More than 30% of U.K. motorists would support electronic road pricing if it meant less congestion, says a recent survey. And they'd accept speed limiters on residential streets if that meant no speed humps.
The survey was Carried out by MORI on commission by the FIA Foundation for the Automobile and Society, a U.K. registered charity set up by the European Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). Amongst the results from a survey of 1441 adults was that almost half of the motorists surveyed (48%) would support being taxed for every mile they drove if the average bill worked out about the same as current road user charges.
