Windows 8, like its predecessors, comes with a built-in utility called System Restore that allows users to rollback Windows to a previous working state. This feature is immensely useful when your system suddenly starts behaving erratically and you don’t know the exact cause. In such situations, you can use system restore to rollback Windows settings to a previous state when things were running smoothly.

To restore Windows to a previous time and date, follow these steps:

1. Type restore point in Start Search box
2. Click Settings
3. Click Create a restore point
4. Next, click the System Restore button in the System Properties dialog box
5. Select a preferable restore point
6. Click Next
7. Click Finish

Windows will now reboot automatically.
