Khalmpr.exe is associated with Logitech’s SetPoint mouse driver. Not an essential process, khalmpr.exe, however, is needed in case you want to use the additional features offered by the Logitech mouse. The problem with this process, however, is that it regularly consumes high CPU resources.
If this is the case with you as well and you don’t require the additional features offered by the mouse, you are better off removing this process.
To remove the process, perform these steps:
Step 1 – Terminate khalmpr.exe
- Open Task Manager
- Select khalmpr.exe and click End Process
Step 2 – Delete khalmpr.exe
- Search khalmpr.exe in your computer
- Once located, select it, and then click Delete
Step 3 – Remove khalmpr.exe from the Startup menu
- Click Start, click Run, type msconfig, and press OK
- Click Startup
- Deselect the box appearing before khalmpr.exe
- Click Apply
- Click OK
- Restart Windows
Step 4 – Remove khalmpr.exe’s registry entries
Note: This step requires you to edit registry. Make a backup copy of the registry using a registry maintenance tool before you proceed.
- Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and press OK
- Click Edit and then Find
- In the Find What box, type khalmpr.exe
- Click Find Next
- Delete the entries related to this process
- Exit the registry editor
