When it comes to technology there is a lot of choice out there. From desktops to laptops, to tablets, e-readers, and handhelds; the possibilities and choices seem endless. However, one of the most difficult decisions of the past few years is the question: iPad or laptop? Which is better? What is going to suit my needs? In the article below we have set out the pros and cons of each device, hopefully making your decision easier to make; giving you a device that will meet all of your specific needs.
What Is The iPad Advantage?
Battery Life
A laptop and an iPad have very different batteries and therefore last a different amount of time. iPads give you the freedom to be out and about with your device for several hours, not even needing to touch your charger. Then, when you do need it; the device is small enough that finding a place to set it while it charges is possible almost anywhere. However, a laptop does not give you the same freedom. The battery may only lasts a couple of hours, as it is bigger than an iPad, and due to size (almost always larger than an iPad), you may not be able to charge right when you need it to. However, there are many new advances being made on the laptop front and a few laptops now offer up to 14 hours a battery life with the possibility that in the next year you may be able to buy any laptop that will rival the iPad in terms of battery life.

Portability
The iPad is a hand held device and therefore very portable. It isn’t heavy and gives you the freedom to simply take it with you. A laptop does not necessarily have the same level of portability. iPads are also much more comfortable as they are light and take up little room, whereas laptops can be very heavy and often bulky.

What is The Laptop Advantage?
Format
Laptops can display almost any file you need because they have the ability to be compatible with any software you need. This is not so with an iPad, which has limited formats that it can work with. This means that the important document you need may be available on your laptop but not your iPad.
Storage
The iPad offers cloud storage, where you can remotely store your pictures, videos, and files. However, a laptop has the option to store a lot of data locally as well as using cloud storage solutions.
So, which one is the better option for you?
