Connapi.dll error usually occurs when you try to run an application. However, it can also occur as Windows loads aswell as at other times. As is the case with other dll files, a connapi.dll not found error or a connapi.dll missing error does not always occur when the required dll file is missing.
Besides missing file, other causes of a missing or not found error are:
- Malware infection
- Incomplete installation of a program
Solution
Check whether the file is present or not
Using the Windows search function, check whether the connapi.dll file is present or not on your computer.
If the file is absent, do the following:
Re-install any recently uninstalled program – A single dll file is often used by many programs and Windows operating system. Often a dll file gets mistakenly removed during the uninstallation of a particular program. When this happens, a not found or missing error is reported each time another program sends a request for it.
If the error started occurring after removal of a particular program, we recommend you to re-install it, and then uninstall it using the Add or Remove Programs utility.
Download it from the Internet – Download connapi.dll from a reputable online dll files directory and register it.
When you download any file from an online directory, remember two things: (1) ensure that the source is genuine and (2) scan the downloaded file for virus and other malware before running it.
After you’ve downloaded the connapi.dll file, follow these steps to register it:
- Click Start>Run
- Type regsvr32 connapi.dll
- Press Enter
If connapi.dll is present and you are still getting the error, perform the following steps.
Run a virus scan – Connapi.dll error often has been noted to occur due to virus infection, and the same may be true in your case. To remove virus and other threats, update your antivirus program (if you don’t have one, immediately download and install a compatible, reliable, and fast antivirus application), close all programs, reboot Windows in the Safe Mode, and run a full system scan.
Reinstall the program with which error is occurring – Incomplete installation of a program or application can also cause dll errors. If the connapi.dll error is occurring with only one application, chances are that the program is not properly installed. To fix the issue, uninstall the program using the built-in Add or Remove programs utility. After you have uninstalled the program, restart Windows and re-install it.
