Users who use Outlook 2007 may encounter the following error:
“The file OLMAPI32.DLL is incompatible with Microsoft Outlook. Install Outlook again.”
Olmapi32.dll is an important file in Microsoft Outlook. If it is not installed or is corrupt, Outlook may not work.
Here are some solutions for olmapi32.dll error. We recommend that you try them in the order they appear below.
Solution 1
- Restart Windows in Safe Mode
- Locate the msmapi32.dll file
- Rename the file to msmapi32.old
- Install Outlook
Solution 2
- Click Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs
- In the Add or Remove Programs window, select Office 2007, click Change, select Add/Remove Features, and then click Continue
- Click the first option
- Select Run All on My Computer
- Follow the instructions that come on your screen
Solution 3
Note: This solution requires you to make changes in registry. Proceed only if you are comfortable working with registry and that too after backing up registry. To make registry backup, use a registry maintenance tool.
- Close Outlook
- Click Start
- Click Run
- Type regedit, and press Enter
- Click the Edit menu in the registry editor window, and then click Find
- Type olmapi32.dll, and then select Find Next
- Locate and select HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTInstallerComponents613B99D5CFD 7FCB4793B500086BB4113
- Select olmapi32.dll in the right pane
- Click Delete
- Exit registry editor
- Launch Outlook 2007
