Avgnsx.exe is part of the AVG Internet Security tool. An important security process, its main job is to prevent computer users from opening web pages that are classified as unsafe in the security tool.
Below are two of the most common errors related to this process, a workaround for each, and how to get rid of avgnsx.exe errors forever if they consistently reoccur.
First error
When you open Internet Explorer or some other browser, you get an error message similar to the one displayed here:
“avgnsx.exe needs to close. It has encountered an expected problem.”
Solution
You can stop the error from occurring by uninstalling the AVG security tool and installing it again using the built-in Custom option. When you reinstall the tool do not select Link Scanner.
Second error
When you open Internet Explorer or some other browser, you get an error message similar to the one displayed here:
“The instruction at 0x7c9101b3 reference at 0x781ffcfe memory cannot be written. avgnsx.exe application error”
Solution
The error can be fixed if you choose to disable Link Scanner. To do this, perform these steps:
- Navigate to system tray, click the icon for AVG, and then click Open
- Disable Link Scanner and save your preferences.
In case avgnsx.exe is causing too many errors too frequently, the only wise thing left is to replace it with another good but hassle-free antivirus tool.
